Bamboo Plywood

Description: Bamboo shavings have been woven together in a herringbone pattern, and then pressed to create our beautiful natural bamboo plywood. Its light creamy golden color brings light and warmth to any room. It is extremely easy to install, and is used to great effect as wall and ceiling treatments. Additionally, our bamboo plywood is used in resin pour countertops and tables. Protect your purchase by trimming and finishing it with one of our decorative trim products.


Appearance: Light creamy golden blond in color. Bamboo strips are woven together in a herringbone pattern.

Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): May be used in both interior and exterior applications. If in an exterior setting, the product must be treated with a polyurethane mix.

Fire Protection: Yes - it achieves a Class B rating even without treatment.

Durability: Weathers well. Lifespan can be prolonged by protecting product edges with trim, and by finishing the product with urethane.

Size: 4ft x 8ft, 2mm thick

Ease of Installation: Extremely easy to install; stapled, nailed, or applied with contact adhesive. (TIP: Look at some of our other bamboo products to use as trim)

Stainability: does not take a stain well

Double-Sided Bamboo Board

Description: By far one of our most rugged decorative materials, this product may be used in the same manner as standard 3/4" plywood. Made by applying crushed bamboo to both sides of a 1/2" thick 4ft x 8ft sheet of plywood, this product is ideal for situations where both sides of the board are visible. The bamboo strips are approximately 4" wide, and appear more rustic than in our Crushed Bamboo Board. This product is often used in cabinetry, doors, bar facades, as well as countertops and decorative wall treatments.


Appearance: Double sided - crushed bamboo applied to either side of a 1/2" thick plywood. Bamboo strips are approx 4" wide, and more rustic than in the crushed bamboo board.

Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): Can be used both indoors and outside. If in an exterior application, treat with a polyurethane coating and seal with Thompson's Water Sealer.

Fire Protection: Yes, sprayed or painted with Dura Series IV for exterior, or Dura Series III for interior work.

Durability: Extremely durable. This can be used in the same way as standard 3/4" plywood. Ideal for high traffic areas where more delicate material would deteriorate quickly.

Size: 4ft x 8ft sheet (grain runs along the 8ft length)

Ease of Installation: Easy to install; use screws or nails. Ideal for applications where both sides of the sheet will be seen.

Stainability: Arrives with a finish, but if properly sanded, will receive a stain nicely.

Materials: Crushed Guadua Bamboo

Herringbone Bamboo Plywood

Description: Light brown, green, and tan strips of bamboo skin are woven together in a herringbone pattern. Unlike Safari’s other Bamboo Plywood, Herringbone uses the skin of the bamboo, and therefore is single sided with a definite polished appearance. This plywood weathers well, especially when it has been treated with urethane. The 4ft x 8ft sheets are easy to install. Typically used as decorative wall and ceiling treatments.


Appearance: Brown, green, and tan strips of bamboo skin have been woven into a large herringbone pattern.

Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): Can be used both indoors and outside. If in an exterior application, treat with a polyurethane coating.

Fire Protection: Yes - but even without Fire Retardant, it achieves a Class B rating.

Cocoterra Basilian Tiles

Description: Our Basilian Cocoterra tiles come two ways, varnished and unvarnished. These 2'x4' panels are easy to hang and easy to install.


Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): Interior only

Cebu finished and unfinished Coco Terra Tiles

Description: Our Cocoterra BasilianTiles are a new addition to our line of decorative plywoods. The Cocoterra tiles come two ways, varnished and unvarnished. The varnished shows the true coconut color whereas the unvarnished resembles cork. The Cebu style is a distinct "brick" pattern.

Batanga Bamboo Board

Description: One of our newest additions, the Batanga Bamboo board really stands above the rest. It comes in a 4'x8' sheet and reminds one of a bamboo parquet design. It has a higher gloss coat to it and is easy to cut and maintain its integrity.

Thatch Reed Ceiling Board

Description: Ceiling board, when combined with Tiki’s By Design's Eucalyptus timber perfectly replicates the underside of a traditionally thatched African roof. Made by gluing Tiki’s By Design’s Thatch Reed to a 4' x 8' masonite backing, this product is easy to install as wall of ceiling cladding, and instantly transports a room’s occupants to an African safari lodge.


Appearance: Made by gluing Tiki’s By Design’s Thatch Reed to a 4' x 8' masonite backing. Overall golden hue with dark brown, tan, green and russet highlights.

Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): Interior only.

Fire Protection: Yes.

Durability: Care should be used prior to the installation of this product to ensure that the thatch material doesn't delaminated from its backing. Once installed however, the product is rigid and much more durable.

Ease of Installation: Easy to install, however take care not to twist the board or the thatch may delaminate.

Young Crushed Bamboo Board

Description: A 4ft x 8ft sheet of Masonite board is covered on one side with 1” wide crushed juvenile bamboo to create our beautiful Crushed Bamboo Board. Very pronounced nodes and a stunning natural golden-yellow color with occasional russet striations make this material a very distinctive decorative element. It is extremely easy to install, and is typically used in decorative wall and ceiling treatments.

Appearance: Single sided 1" wide crushed juvenile bamboo on masonite board backing. Very pronounced nodes and a stunning natural golden-yellow color with occasional russet striations make this material a very distinctive decorative element.

Grade (Int. vs. Ext.): Interior applications only.

Fire Protection: Yes

Durability: To be kept away from moist environments or harsh conditions, but otherwise, since made from bamboo, is quite long lasting.

Stainability: It can take a stain if sanded first to allow the stain to permeate the bamboo. Typically the skin of most bamboo is too smooth for a stain to stay on.

Fine Crushed Bamboo Board

Description: A 4ft x 8ft sheet of Masonite board is covered on one side with 6” wide crushed bamboo poles to create our beautiful Crushed Bamboo Board. Very pronounced nodes and a stunning natural amber color make this material a very distinctive decorative element. It is extremely easy to install, and is typically used in decorative wall and ceiling treatments.
