This
modern, robust and practical material was designed with a specific goal
in mind: to revolutionize roofing by creating a permanent substitute
for the majority of natural leaves used throughout the world.
These
endangered and fragile leaf species, such as the Pala Palas, Pandanus
and Palma Cana have too short a life-span to be considered a profitable
long-term investment.
Three varieties of leaves, along with a
selection of accessories adapted to your needs, are manufactured in
Canada to high quality standards and subjected to rigorous
testing.
Perma-Thatch™ leaves and accessories comply with construction norms, investor expectations, and individual needs.
From a simple bungalow to a complex residential project through to hotel complexes, Perma Thatch™ has got you covered on the important issues of maintenance and longevity.
Guaranteed durability, water-tightness and UV protection due to our unique patented solution.
The
polymer used in our products, along with a special laying
technique, contribute greatly to the material’s resistance to cyclone
activity.
The
availability of a 'fire-retardant' version completes the range of
perfectly security-compliant models to suit specifications within the
majority of countries and regions.
Tiki's By
Design Inc. is proud to be one of the first US dealers to
introduce an alternative roofing material with exceptional quality
guarantees to cover such a wide range of uses and applications.

EASY INSTALLATION – LONGEVITY – ECONOMY OF TIME AND MONEY

Our
Bora-Bora style thatch is the perfect solution when you need a
decorative interior aspect and exterior protection in one step for tiki
huts. It is to be used on an exposed rafter frame where the underside
of the frame and thatch is visible. Our Bora-Bora style synthetic
thatch can be installed on your wood frame to give you your own
tropical paradise. This is the ideal thatch to cover tiki huts, tiki
bars, cabanas, gazebos or even a chickee hut.

Our
Domingo style thatch can be laid like a shingle on a plywood deck, a
metal roof or an existing shingle roof. When you are looking for the
perfect thatch for cabanas or palapas, Tikisbydesign.com has the
perfect solution.
Natural Palm Leaves vs. Perma-Thatch™
Using
natural materials on your tiki hut or tiki bar does have its drawbacks.
Natural thatch can be very maintenance intensive. The maintenance cycle
varies based on the type of thatch used on your tiki hut or your
palapa, the roof pitch, the degree of shade or exposure and the kinds
of materials used for the thatching.
Weather
can also play a big part in the maintenance cycle of your thatch roof.
Natural thatch is an organic material that is susceptible to decay and
decomposition which begins shortly after installation on your tiki hut.
Precautions must be taken to minimize the possibility of any of these
processes taking place. In warm, wet climates thatch is prone to fungal
attacks. Windy or cold areas take a toll on natural thatch. Insects and
birds will also take a toll on natural thatch. Synthetic thatch is not
susceptible to these problems.
Perma-Thatch™ is an alternative to natural thatch!
Tiki's By Design, Inc. Perma-Thatch™ is almost indestructible and creates a permanent substitute for the
majority of natural leaves used for thatch throughout the world. These
endangered and fragile leaf species, such as the Palapa, Palma Cana and
Sabal palm leaves have too short a life-span to be considered a
profitable long-term investment, causing tiki huts, palapas and cabanas
to be re-thatched every 3 to 5 years. Any place you wish to combine the
look of a natural structure with the confidence of a long term
guarantee, you can apply our authentic looking synthetic Perma-Thatch™. |
